Pete Drummond is widely regarded as one of the finest drummers in Australia today. Currently an integral member of the iconic Australian band Dragon, Pete has also toured and recorded with a multitude of artists including, The Temptations (US motown legends), Glenn Shorrock (Little River Band), Choirboys, Wendy Mathews and many more. As a clinician for Pearl Drums and Zildjian cymbals, Pete has performed solo at drumming festivals alongside the world’s greatest drummers, Virgil Donati, Dave Weckl, Thomas Lang & Mike Mangini. He remains a featured artist on the internationally released ‘The Ultimate Drummers’ Weekend 2003’ DVD (Hudson).As a session drummer, Pete has played on a huge variety of recordings, ranging in style from country, jazz, metal, pop, funk and glam-rock psychedelia; he also played drums on the soundtrack for the Sacha Baron-Cohen film ‘Bruno’. Pete has composed Soundtracks for National Geographic (USA) and ABC Television Australia, including ‘Crude: The Incredible Journey of Oil’ and his latest work on ‘A Traveler’s Guide to The Planets’. His work ranges from orchestral cues, through to contemporary dance music and soundscapes. Pete has also worked successfully as a producer and mix engineer. He has produced tracks for many acts including Dragon, Jeapster, Urban Stone and The Jefferson. He also has co-written and arranged many songs for a variety of projects. Pete’s own 2007 release ‘Identity Crisis’ showcases his talents as a solo drummer, guitarist, bass player, programmer and composer of progressive rock music. This album features many world-class musicians; including Steve Weingart, James Muller & Bill Risby.
